In 1995, Chrysler introduced the Eagle Jazz concept model. It was she who became the harbinger of the big 300M sedan, which debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in January 1998, in the features of which there was a clear connection with the concept of three years ago. Serial production of the car continued in Canada until 2004, and its sales were carried out not only in North America, it was also exported to Europe and Russia.

The Chrysler 300M sedan is a typical representative of the business class, with a design that is radically different from its European classmates. Vehicle length is 5000 mm, height - 1422 mm, width - 1890 mm. The wheelbase of the "American" is 2870 mm, and the ground clearance (clearance) is 130 mm.

The appearance of the Chrysler 300M is somewhat unusual for its class, but at first it is perceived as simply huge. But this is only an optical illusion, which is created due to the arrow-shaped shape. Aggressive "muzzle", low roof, large area of glass front and rear, long hood, massive stern and large overhangs - all this visually "increases" the dimensions of the already five-meter sedan, and also give its appearance swiftness and lightness.

The interior of the Chrysler 300M sedan looks quite relevant to this day. The front panel has a well-thought-out layout, the ergonomics are at a high level, and the finishing materials are of high quality and pleasant. On the dashboard, you can see three ventilation deflectors, as well as neatly arranged air conditioning and audio control units. The dashboard consists of four white circles, the readings on which are marked in black. In general, it is nice and functional, everything is read clearly under any conditions.

At the front, the American sedan has comfortable seats with a wide cushion, which are electrically adjustable in eight directions. But due to the poorly developed lateral support, they set up a quiet driving experience. The rear sofa is designed for three adults, there is enough space in all directions, except that the sloping roof can press on the heads of too tall passengers. Well, the person sitting in the middle may be somewhat uncomfortable with a shorter pillow than on the sides, as well as a slightly protruding transmission tunnel.

The luggage compartment of the Chrysler 300M pleasantly surprises. And not only in volume - 530 liters, but also in depth. It will be possible to reach the far wall if you climb into it practically up to your waist. At the same time, the loading opening of the trunk is small, so it will not work to transport bulky loads in a sedan.

Specifications. For the Chrysler 300M sedan, two gasoline atmospheric "sixes" with a V-shaped arrangement of cylinders were offered, each of which is combined with an uncontested 4-speed "automatic" and front-wheel drive. The base unit is considered to be a 2.5-liter unit, producing 203 horsepower and 258 Nm of peak thrust at 4850 rpm. A large sedan with such a motor conquers the 100 km / h mark after 10.2 seconds, and its top speed is 210 km / h. At the same time, the "American" has a very decent appetite - 10.2 liters of gasoline per 100 km of driving in mixed mode.
The next is a 3.5-liter engine with a capacity of 252 "horses", developing 340 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. It provides the five-meter "colossus" with excellent dynamics - 7.8 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h, 225 km / h maximum speed. On average, such a car requires 12 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

An independent suspension with McPherson struts is installed on the front axle of the Chrysler 300M, and an independent suspension with a multi-link scheme is installed on the rear axle. The brakes on all wheels are disc, and the steering is supplemented with a hydraulic booster.

In 2014, on the secondary market in Russia, "three hundred-em" can be bought at a price of about 250,000 - 400,000 rubles, depending on the year of production and modification. One of the advantages of the sedan is its rich equipment.
