Smart ForFour Crosstown is a rear-wheel drive five-door premium hatchback A-class according to the European classification, stylized as a crossover, which is designed for people leading an active city life and who want to stand out not only in the general stream, but also in the crowd of smart drivers ...

The official premiere of the car took place in March 2017 on the stage of the International Geneva Motor Show - it received protective plastic "armor" along the lower perimeter of the body, pretending to be a "jeep", but at the same time, contrary to the canons of the genre, surprised by the reduced ground clearance (and not increased) and standard sports suspension.

Outside, confusing the Smart ForFour cross-version against the background of the standard model is not allowed by black decorative lining on the wheel arches, silver elements on the bumpers that imitate underbody protection, and 16-inch multi-spoke wheels of the original design - such a "tinsel" slightly ennobled the appearance of the five-door, giving it an off-road image.

This is an A-class hatchback with corresponding dimensions: 3495 mm long, 1665 mm wide and 1554 mm high. The distance between the pairs of wheels of the car has a 2492 mm gap, and under its bottom there is a 110 mm ground clearance.

Inside, the Smart ForFour Crosstown differs from the base "sibling" with a sports steering wheel with a raised rim, aluminum pedal pads and a carbon-look dashboard.

The rest of the models are identical - stylish and modern design, high-quality finishing, a four-seater interior layout and a luggage compartment with a volume of 185 to 975 liters, depending on the position of the "gallery".

For the "cross-country" version of Smart ForFour, one single gasoline engine is offered - this is an in-line "three" with a working volume of 0.9 liters (898 cubic centimeters) with turbocharging, direct fuel injection and a 12-valve timing belt, which generates 90 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 2500 rpm.

As standard, the car is equipped with a twinamic 6-band preselective "robot", directing the entire power reserve to the rear wheels.

From place to "first" hundred, the German small car accelerates after 11.9 seconds, accelerates to a maximum of 165 km / h, and in the combined cycle "destroys" about 4.2 liters of gasoline for every 100 km of run.

Structurally, the Smart ForFour Crosstown does not differ from the conventional model - a rear-wheel drive bogie with a rear engine, independent front and semi-independent rear suspension, electric power steering and a brake complex with ventilated front pancakes and simple rear drums.

Well, the main feature of the cross-hatchback is the sports chassis with more balanced settings.

On the Russian market for Smart ForFour Crosstown they ask for a minimum of 1,640,831 rubles 20 kopecks.

Nominally, the car boasts: five airbags, 16-inch wheels, an air conditioner, light and rain sensors, a multimedia complex, a 35-liter fuel tank, ABS, ESP, leather trim, power windows, "cruise", LED DRLs and other modern equipment.
