At the International Auto Show in New York, held in March 2016, many automakers flashed their novelties, and Kia was no exception. The South Korean brand organized in the United States a full-fledged world premiere of the full-size Cadenza sedan of the second incarnation, which was first introduced in its homeland under the name K7 back in November 2015.

The car, which occupies an intermediate position in the company's hierarchy between the four-door Optima and Quoris, went on sale in the home market in February 2016, and will reach the United States this fall.

The appearance of the "second" Kia Cadenza turned out to be truly beautiful and deliberately solid, and at the same time, the appearance of the three-volume was not occupied with sportiness. The predatory section of the headlights, the "zigzags" of the running lights, which are echoed by the taillights, the "curly" bumpers and filigreely folded proportions with a long hood, large wheel arches and a dropping roofline - the car definitely catches with its appearance, and it looks exactly not worse than European and Japanese competitors.

The second generation Cadenza is a full-size E-Class sedan with the following external dimensions: 4971 mm in length, 1471 mm in height and 1869 mm in width. The wheelbase of the four-door is located within 2855 mm.

The interior of Kia Cadenza is designed in the style of the flagship "Quoris" and is highly cut from premium finishing materials. The front panel is covered over the entire width by a solid visor, and on its central "low tide" there is a large color screen of the multimedia center, a stylish analog clock and ergonomic units of the audio system and "climate". In German, the laconic instrument "panel" is beautiful and informative, and the multifunctional steering wheel with a three-spoke design is comfortable and endowed with relief outlines.

Inside, the three-box meets the driver and passengers with a sea of free space in both rows of seats. In the front, there are comfortable chairs with an excellent profile and a large number of electrical adjustments, and in the back there is a cozy sofa with padding that is optimal in terms of rigidity and a well-thought-out layout.

The "second" Kia Cadenza has a very spacious "hold" - 453 liters in standard form. The compartment itself has a convenient configuration, and a spare wheel and the necessary tools are "hidden" in its underground niche.

Specifications. In the North American market, the full-size sedan is equipped with a naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine with a volume of 3.3 liters (3342 cubic centimeters) with an aluminum cylinder block, variable valve timing, direct fuel injection and a 24-valve timing, producing 290 "stallions" at 6400 rpm and 344 Nm of torque moment at 5200 rpm. "Six" is combined with an 8-speed "automatic" with "sport" and "manual" modes of changing gears and a front-wheel drive transmission.

The driving characteristics of the 2017 Kia Cadenza have not yet been announced, but it is expected that to the first "hundred" the car will be able to accelerate in less than 7 seconds, its "maximum speed" will be at least 230 km / h, and fuel consumption will not exceed 12 liters in mixed conditions.

In other countries, the three-volume is also offered with a gasoline 2.4-liter "four" GDI, developing 190 horsepower, a four-cylinder turbo diesel e-VGT with a volume of 2.2 liters, the return of which is 202 "mares", and a gas engine V6 3.0 LPI with a capacity of 235 "horses" ... They are combined with automatic transmissions - 6- or 8-range.

"Cadenza" of the second incarnation is based on the front-wheel drive "bogie" of its predecessor, which has gone through a major upgrade, with a longitudinally based engine. More than half of the body of the car consists of high-strength grades of steel. On both axles of the four-door, an independent lever-spring suspension with lateral stabilizers, adaptive dampers and Hydraulic Rebound Stopper technology is installed.
In the "base" the sedan is equipped with a rack-and-pinion steering complex with a progressive electric amplifier. "In a circle" the car is endowed with disc brakes (with ventilation on the front axle) with ABS, BAS, EBD and other assisting electronics.

Options and prices. In the US, sales of the 2nd generation Kia Cadenza (2017 model year) will start in the fall of 2016 (prices will be announced closer to that moment).
In the standard version, the sedan "flaunts" ten airbags, 18-inch wheel rims, advanced "music", a dual-zone "climate", a multimedia system, full power accessories, leather trim, ABS, ESP and a bunch of other equipment.
More "packaged" versions can boast 19-inch "rollers", head-up display, head-up display, Harman / Kardon premium audio system with 12 speakers, all-LED optics and other "chips".
