At the end of September 2016, the Japanese automaker Nissan officially presented the five-door Micra hatchback at the international Paris Auto Show with the next, fifth generation, a conceptual harbinger of which, called Sway, was shown to the public in March this year at a bridegroom in Geneva.

With the change of generation, the car not only grew in size and received compact turbo engines, but also changed its image, turning from a “modest Cinderella” into a “fashionable city woman”, and became much more technologically advanced, having tried on a lot of innovations previously unseen in the “B” segment.

"Micra" of the fifth incarnation attracts attention with its bright, expressive and rather aggressive appearance, which should be to the taste of European buyers. At the front, the car gazes at the world with a predatory glance of headlights with LED "ticks" of running lights adjacent to the "family" V-shaped radiator grill, and at the back it flaunts a curly trunk lid, boomerang lights and a raised bumper. In profile, the hatchback looks swift and sporty, and the credit for this belongs to the sloping hood, the sloping roof outlines, the broken window sill line, the developed plastic sidewalls and the blackened rear pillars, creating the effect of a "floating" roof.

The fifth "release" Nissan Micra is listed in the B-class according to the European classification: the length of the five-door is 3999 mm, the width is 1743 mm, and the height is 1455 mm. Between the pairs of wheels, the car has a 2525 mm base.

The interior of "Mikra" with its design echoes the exterior - inside, the sports steering wheel with a three-spoke design and a truncated rim, made in the spirit of the supercar Nissan GT-R, an "elegant" instrument cluster and a minimalist center console with a 7-inch monitor are the first to attract attention. multimedia systems and a stylish climate control. But it is worth noting that in the basic versions, the decoration looks much simpler. The finishing materials for the hatchback are mostly inexpensive (soft plastics are used only in places with which the driver and passenger are most often in contact), but contrasting inserts in the body color on the front panel and seats add brightness to it.

The front passengers are provided with a comfortable fit thanks to the ergonomic seats with well-defined sidewalls and sufficient adjustment intervals. But the rear sofa, despite the correct profile, will be cramped for tall passengers.

How spacious the luggage compartment of the Nissan Micra is - the Japanese company has not yet disclosed, however, they note that its volume will not cause complaints from most European consumers.

Specifications. For the five-door hatchback, a line of three power units has been prepared, directing the stock of traction to the wheels of the front axle by means of a 5-speed "mechanics" (for the diesel version, a preselective 6-band "robot" will be offered as an option). How the Nissan Micra will deal with agility and fuel "gluttony", the Japanese company has not yet been announced.

  • The initial version is an atmospheric petrol "four" with a volume of 1.0 liters with an in-line arrangement, distributed injection and a 16-valve timing arrangement, developing 75 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm.
  • Behind it, in the hierarchy, is a three-cylinder 900-cc engine equipped with multi-point gasoline injection, 12 valves and a turbocharger, the output of which is 90 "stallions" at 5250 rpm and 140 Nm of ultimate thrust at 2500 rpm (in Overboost mode - 10 Nm more).
  • The power range is crowned by a 1.5-liter diesel engine with four row-oriented "pots", 8-valve timing, turbocharging and common rail direct injection, generating 90 "mares" at 4000 rpm and 220 Nm of available potential at 1750 rpm.

"Micra" of the fifth generation is based on a front-wheel drive platform CMF-B with a transversely placed power plant and a body made of high-strength types of steel. The chassis design of the hatch is typical of the B-Class: at the front of the application there is an independent suspension with MacPherson struts, and the rear wheels are attached via a semi-independent system with a torsion cross member.
By default, the car is equipped with ventilated front and conventional rear brake discs, complemented by modern electronics. The steering complex of the five-door is formed by a rack and pinion gear and an electric amplifier.
For a surcharge, the "Japanese" offers an adaptive suspension Active Ride Control, suppressing pitching and adjusting damping, and Active Trace Control, which selectively brakes the wheels to minimize understeer.

Options and prices. Serial production of the "fifth" Nissan Micra will be established at the French Renault plant in Flin, and its sales in the countries of the Old World will be launched in March 2017 (the cost will be announced closer to this time). The hatchback will deprive Russia of its attention - we have such a format of cars is not held in high esteem.
The five-door promises rich equipment out of class - a multimedia center with a 7-inch screen, navigation, a smartphone connection and a panoramic view, an occupied lane control system, automatic braking with pedestrian recognition, premium Bose Personal "music", adaptive suspension, a "reading" system road signs, climate control and many other "chips". In addition, the machine will offer ample customization options.
