At the end of September 2015, the Japanese premium brand Infiniti officially demonstrated at the international Frankfurt auto show the first compact hatchback in its history called the Q30, the main features of which were the MFA platform from Mercedes-Benz at the heart and a strong external similarity with the concept of the same name two years ago.

Already in December 2015, this car entered mass production at the facilities of the British plant of the Nissan concern in Sunderland, and in February 2016, its sales began in the countries of the Old World (the Russians had to wait until the summer for the five-door).

The Infiniti Q30 looks impressive - a daring and graceful body with streamlined lines and sculptural curves surprisingly combines sophistication and brutality. Aggressive "face" of the hatchback looks at the world with a "predatory gaze" of headlights, which are successfully combined with a cellular "shield" of the radiator grille and a raised bumper.

In profile, the car demonstrates a bold and energetic design with well-developed wheel arches "muscles" and a graceful curvature of the C-pillar, and deliberate sportiness is brought into its appearance by a long bonnet that turns into a heavily obstructed windshield and actively sloping roof contours.

Harmoniously completes the spectacular look of a lean feed with beautiful shades of lamps and a powerful bumper with a pseudo-diffuser and two branch pipes of the exhaust system.

The five-door hatchback Infiniti Q30 belongs to the European class "C" and is 4425 mm long, 1495 mm high and 1805 mm wide. The distance between the axles is 2700 mm from the overall length, and the ground clearance is a very solid 172 mm.

When stowed, the "Japanese" weighs from 1470 to 1545 kg, depending on the version.

The interior of the Infiniti Q30 looks nice and fashionable, and the wavy architecture of the front panel with a 7-inch screen of the multimedia system hidden under the visor and deflectors of a "complex" shape add sophistication and respectability to it.

And the rest of the decoration did not disappoint - a simple, but informative "toolbox" with a colored "window" of the on-board computer, a stylish multi-steering wheel with embossed outlines and an ergonomic center console with "remotes" of the audio system and climate complex.

In terms of the level of interior decoration, the golf hatchback is able to "shut the mouth" of many "classmates" - most surfaces are covered with high-quality leather, there are inserts made of natural wood and aluminum.

The hospitable Infiniti Q30 front seats are distinguished by an anatomical profile with unobtrusive lateral bolsters and a bunch of adjustments in different directions.

The back sofa is comfortable and roomy enough (there is enough freedom both in the legs and above the crown), but it is better to sit on it together - the third will be uncomfortable with the protruding section of the pillow and the high tunnel on the floor.

The trunk volume of the "ku-thirty" is 368 liters in standard condition, and to increase the cargo capacity in a ratio of 60:40, the back of the second row of seats is folded, although a perfect flat floor is not obtained. The compartment is well-decorated, endowed with shades of lighting and a 12-volt socket, but in its "cellar" there is only a repair kit.

In the Russian market for the Infiniti Q30, two gasoline engines are offered, borrowed from the Mercedes-Benz A-class, which are paired only with a 7-band preselective "robot":

  • The basic version is a 1.6-liter (1595 cubic centimeters) in-line four-cylinder engine with a 16-valve timing chain drive, turbocharging, 3rd generation direct injection and a variable valve timing mechanism at the outlet and inlet. It produces a maximum of 149 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 250 Nm of possible torque at 1250-4000 rpm.
In combination with a robotic gearbox and a front-wheel drive transmission, the engine allows the car to accelerate the first "hundred" in 8.9 seconds and conquer the bar of 214 km / h, consuming an average of 5.8 liters of fuel per 100 km of run in the combined mode.
  • The "top" versions of the Infiniti Q30 are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo unit with four in-line "pots", direct fuel supply, timing chain drive, Camtronic intake valve travel adjustment mechanism and piezo injectors, producing 211 "mares" at 5500 rpm and 350 Nm torque at 1200-4000 rpm.
Together with the "four" work "robot" and four-wheel drive with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, which transfers, if necessary, up to 50% of the moment to the wheels of the rear axle. On the move, such a car is good - starting spurt to 100 km / h takes 7.3 seconds, the maximum capabilities are 228 km / h, and gasoline consumption does not exceed 6.7 liters for each "mixed hundred".

In the countries of the Old World, the Infiniti Q30 is also equipped with diesel "fours" with a volume of 1.5 and 2.1 liters, developing 109 and 170 horsepower, respectively, and a gasoline 122-horsepower turbo engine of 1.6 liters, as well as a 6-speed "mechanics".

"Ku-thirtieth" is based on the "Mercedes" MFA platform, which implies a transverse placement of the power plant. The body of the five-door is 73% of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel grades. At the front, the wheels are suspended by means of an independent architecture with MacPherson struts, and at the rear, a multi-link suspension.

All versions of the car are equipped with rack and pinion steering, which has a built-in electromechanical power amplifier with variable performance.

The powerful brake complex on the "Japanese" is represented by ventilated disc devices in the front and disc in the rear, as well as a full set of safety technologies - ABS, EBD, BAS, ASR and others. The diameter of the rear "pancakes" is 295 mm, and the front ones vary from 295 to 320 mm (depending on the modification).

In the Russian market, the Infiniti Q30 in 2018 is offered in nine equipment options - Base, GT Pack 1, GT Pack 2, Café Teak, Gallery White, GT Pack 3, City Black , "GT Premium Pack 1" and "GT Premium Pack 2".

A car in the basic version with a 149-horsepower engine and front-wheel drive is available at a price of 1,769,990 rubles. In its arsenal there are: six airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, TSC, VDC, lift assist technology, a media center with a 7-inch screen, an audio system with six speakers, a light sensor, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, dual-zone climate -control, LED lights, power windows for all doors and some other functionality ...

... a hatchback with a 211-horsepower "four" and an all-wheel drive transmission (provided from the "GT Pack 1" version) costs at least 2,220,000 rubles ...

The "top" performance of the hatchback will cost from 2,319,000 rubles - this option boasts: 18-inch rollers, Nappa leather seats, premium Bose music with ten speakers, adaptive LED headlights, all-round cameras, an automatic parking, panoramic roof, keyless entry and engine start, as well as other "bells and whistles".
