In St. Petersburg on June 16, 2014, a restyled hatchback Hyundai Solaris 2015 model year was presented, which is no less popular in our country than the sedan of the same name. The hatchback has got an updated exterior, some technical innovations, received specific improvements to the interior, as well as a revised list of trim levels.
The appearance of the restyled hatchback is distinguished by the presence of new bumpers and a radiator grill, a bumper with a different relief, updated optics, LED taillights and daytime running lights already in the basic configuration.
The dimensions of the Hyundai Solaris hatchback remained practically unchanged - the length increased to 4120 mm, the length of the wheelbase remained at the level of 2570 mm, and the width and height, respectively, are equal to the previous 1700 and 1470 mm. The clearance of the Hyundai Solaris hatchback is equal to the same 160 millimeters.
The five-seater saloon has also undergone some changes. The seats have received new upholstery, the rear door panels have got pockets for small things, and their armrests have received a soft top.
The top versions are now equipped with a new gearshift lever, a height-adjustable steering column and a new display for the multimedia system.
The rest of the interior remains the same, has not changed (despite the increase in the length of the body) and the useful volume of the trunk, as before in the Hyundai Solaris hatchback, it holds no more than 370 liters of cargo.
Specifications. The restyling of the hatchback did not present new engines, and the old engines of the Gamma line have not undergone any modernization, retaining their resistance to Russian climatic conditions, fuel "omnivorousness" and the previous technical characteristics.
The younger engine has at its disposal 4 in-line cylinders with a total displacement of 1.4 liters, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, multi-point fuel injection and a variable valve timing system. Its upper power limit is fixed at around 107 hp. at 6300 rpm, and the peak torque is 135 Nm at 5000 rpm.
As before, the junior motor is aggregated with a 5-speed "mechanics" or with a 4-band "automatic", and its dynamic and fuel characteristics are similar to those of the Hyundai Solaris sedan, a review of which we have already published.
The top engine of the Hyundai Solaris hatchback also has 4 cylinders, but with a displacement of 1.6 liters. Otherwise, the equipment of the motor is similar to the younger model, and its maximum power is 123 hp. at 6300 rpm. The upper torque limit is indicated by the manufacturer at 155 Nm, reached at 4200 rpm.
Note that the flagship engine received new gearboxes: 6-speed "mechanics" and 6-band "automatic".

The suspension of the updated hatchback is similar to the sedan: MacPherson struts in front and a torsion bar in the rear, ventilated disc brakes on the front wheels and simple disc mechanisms on the rear. Traditionally, the front-wheel-drive hatchback is equipped with electric power assisted rack and pinion steering.
Options and prices. If before the restyling of 2014 the Hyundai Solaris hatchback had its own trim line, now the list of equipment options is completely similar to the list of sedan trim levels and includes only three options: "Active", "Comfort" and "Elegance".
At the same time, the list of basic equipment has practically not changed, except perhaps the rear LED lights and daytime running lights have been added. In addition, the 2014-2015 Hyundai Solaris is now available in four new body colors.
The starting price of the restyled Solaris hatchback in 2015 is 525,900 rubles. The most affordable version with a 1.6-liter engine will cost 583,900 rubles, and "full stuffing" is estimated at 695,900 rubles, excluding additional optional packages.
